Orthopedic Surgery for a Golden Retreiver with broken arm (Radius and ulna fracture). I am Kiwi. I am a 13 months old male Golden Retreiver. I am an intact male dog and I am very very active busing chasing girlfriends and run after other dogs as always.
I have just had a car accident. Shock and faint.
My owners sent me to Saigon Pet today. X ray shows my arm was broken. Ultrasound shows my bladder was ok. My liver was injured too.
I was stabilised. and Tonight my vets do operation for me. I am a big boy. Muscles are strong and the muscles contraction make parts of my broken bone so difficult to be put on the right position to put the titanium plate and screws.
But I have a good arm now. I thank you so much for my owners for sending me to Saigon Pet Veterinary Hospital for operation. Thank you very much for all your help Dr Khe, Dr Yen, Dr Kim Tam, Suka, Toan and Nguyen and Trung. Without your help, I would have not had a right arm now.
For your information, each orthoprdic operation takes at least 120 minutes and requires at least 4 persons to operate. Unlike in human, animals like me cannot control ourselves after operation. I will need special care and cage rest and soft walk for at least 4 weeks.
My owners think that I need to be neutered to be calm and avoid accidents in future.
